ADMISSIONS
Parish Boundaries
St. George & St Teresa Catholic Primary School is delighted to welcome all applications. Please would you refer to our criteria to acquaint yourself with the order of priority and paperwork we require.
Open Mornings
Open Sessions are arranged at the start of a new academic year - dates are provided on the school website, in the Parish newsletter and also as part of the school newsletter. This gives you the opportunity to look around our school and meet our wonderful children.
Applications for a Nursery place
If you would like to apply for a Nursery place to join us this academic year 2025-26, your child must have turned 3 before September 2025. Applications are made via the school office and we have a few remaining spaces available for both a 15-hour and 30-hour provision for 2025-26 only.
If you would like to apply for a Nursery place starting in September 2026, applications are made via the school office. It is not co-ordinated by Solihull Local Authority.
Nursery 2026 applications:
- Closing date - Monday 1st December 2025.
- Offers made - Friday 23rd January 2026.
You can make a late application after the closing date. This may have an impact on a place being offered.
Applications for a place in Reception
We still have some space in our current Reception 2025 cohort. Please contact the office for further information.
If you would like to apply for a Reception place starting in September 2026 you should apply to your home council. The closing date for applying for a Reception 2026 place is 15th January 2026.
Contact School Admissions if you miss the closing date on 0121 704 6710.
Offers will be made for Reception 2026 on 16th April 2026.
In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made via the local authority by completing the in-year admissions application form which is available from https://www.solihull.gov.uk/Schools-and-learning/School-admissions
As a Catholic School, parents will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form in addition to the standard application form that is submitted to the local authority.
Supplementary Information Forms can be found below under Admission arrangements or a hard copy can be provided on request by contacting the school office on 01564 774906 / office@stgandt.solihull.sch.uk.
Supplementary Information Forms must be returned directly to the school at St George & St Teresa School, Mill Lane, Bentley Heath B93 8PA or email: office@stgandt.solihull.sch.uk.
If a Supplementary Information Form is not submitted directly to the school this may affect the priority given to the application and could affect the likelihood of your child being offered a place.
The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the governors.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for the current academic year, will be applied. The full admission arrangements can be found below under Admission arrangements.
Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the local authority will notify you of this decision on behalf of the governors and the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details regarding waiting lists.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of its receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of its receipt.
Admission arrangements
These documents (links at bottom of page) explain how we will work with Solihull Council throughout the application process. They also show how places will be offered if there are more applications than places available. They are reviewed and published every year.
If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions, please contact the Headteacher. You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority 0121 704 6693.
Appeals
If you are not offered a place at this school you have the right of appeal against the decision not to allocate a place to your child. Appeals are heard by an independent panel. You must write to the Chairman of Governors.
