St George And St Teresa Catholic Primary School

I hope you have all enjoyed playing in the snow and that it provided a welcome distraction from the current challenges that we are all facing.

Together with our local schools (Arden, Bentley Heath, Dorridge and Knowle), I have been monitoring the weather conditions this afternoon and early evening.  We have jointly made the decision to close the Arden cluster of schools tomorrow to all staff and children.  The Met Office forecasts more snow this evening and the temperatures are due to plummet overnight.  Although some of the local roads have been reasonably clear this afternoon, there is a weather warning for the risk of ice.  We are concerned that side roads and pavements will be treacherous in the morning.  We do not wish to put added pressure on our emergency services at this time.  We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this decision will cause. 

The safety of our children, parents and staff will always take precedence.  The forecast looks better for Tuesday 26^th January, so unless there are any drastic changes, we intend to re-open schools to the children of critical workers and our vulnerable children on Tuesday 26^th January. 

Remote learning will be in place for all children at St George and St Teresa tomorrow.  Please note the times of the live teacher sessions:
