Hello Everyone,

I'm just letting you know about the latest challenge we've come up with for Lent, to encourage donations to continue to come in for the Foodbank group - and I was wondering if I could please ask for your support yet again with publicising this as much as possible - either through our parish, school, or in the local area?

The latest challenge echoes the philosophy of 'Live simply - that others may simply live'. It encourages those taking part to consider how much of what we consume is done so as a necessity - and how much is really a luxury that we take for granted and don't actually need. The challenge aims to promote the fact that those needing support from Foodbanks struggle to afford even the most basic necessities, never mind luxuries. The challenge encourages those taking part to have a few moments of solidarity with Foodbank users by giving up some of their luxuries, and donating food to the Foodbank instead.

I've attached an introductory outline of the challenge by way of explanation, as well as a 'Challenge Chart', which provides a weekly focus for giving up - and giving. It would be really helpful if these could be put on the parish and school websites if you don't mind, Father Rob & Nicola. Daphne - I wondered whether we could give some of the Challenge Charts to the local shops to advertise as we have done before - and perhaps leave copies of it with them so that we can let people in the wider community know how to donate?
