PGL MAY 2017

Monday 8th May

We have arrived safe and sound to PGL Boreatton Park. Our team leader is Mel and we have had a tour of the site. After a lovely dinner of pasta, chicken Kiev, fish pie and chocolate pudding, we went to the camp fire for a sing song!

We are all settled into our rooms and ready for canoeing in the morning! We are all having an amazing time and the weather has been great so far!

Tuesday 9th May

We have had glorious weather here at Boreatton Park today! Although we did not sleep much on our first night (there was too much excitement!), this morning there was a delicious breakfast of cereal, yogurt, fruit, bacon, eggs beans and toast. After devouring our breakfast, we got set up for our canoeing session. The PGL staff gave us a full safety briefing on how to stay safe in our canoes and then we were off! In teams, we travelled by canoe down the river taking in the beautiful surroundings around us.

For lunch we had the choice of baguette or a wrap and we could choose several fillings. Afterwards, we headed off in our teams to complete a variety of activities including zip wire, challenge course and  aeroball. Our groupies are fantastic and are making our trip here so much fun.

We have just had our dinner of fish fingers, lasagne, vegetable curry and fruit crumble. We are awaiting our evening entertainment of SPLASH! and are looking forward to our beds, ready to refuel for another eventful day tomorrow.

Wednesday 10th May

This morning was ideal for our raft building session- there wasn't a cloud in the sky! After our breakfast of sausages, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes, we geared up in our safety equipment and designed our own rafts to float on Lake Benbow. The PGL leaders were very impressed with our engineering skills and we showed great reciprocity as we constructed our rafts.  We had so much fun on the lake, splashing around and some of us even chose to go in! For lunch we had had baked potato with a choice of fillings and salad. Our afternoon sessions consisted of zip wire, trapeze, problem solving and aeroball. The weather was amazing all day and we polished off our dinner with some delicious ice cream. Our evening entertainment was Quiz Night with our team leader Mel and to finish such a lovely day we said our prayers together, thanking God for such a wonderful opportunity.

Thursday 11th May

We have had the most spectacular day today. We cannot believe that it is our last full day here at PGL. This morning there was another yummy breakfast. Throughout the day we took part in a variety of activities including: aeroball, fencing, archery, trapeze and challenge course. This week we have really bonded with one another and have made many memories with our friends. We realise that we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to spend time with another. We have done all of our shopping at the gift shop, and have stocked up on presents for our family and friends at home. The weather has once again been lovely and we even had a surprise visit from a very special guest this evening... Mr Foxon! We were delighted to see him and we told him about all about the special week that we have had.  This evening we had a choice of taking part in Free Time or PGL Sports Night on the grassed area behind our log cabin.

We have said our evening prayers and are currently packing up our belongings ready for another epic morning of fun PGL activities!
