PGL MAY 2019

Monday 21st May

Y5 have settled in well at PGL, enjoying a campfire on our first night in which we were definitely the most enthusiastic and engaged school. After a good nights rest we took on different challenges, our 3 groups completed tasks including: archery, challenge course, rifle shooting, the giant swing and a 32ft abseil, and everyone has enjoyed every activity so far. Instructors have commented on how well behaved and polite our children are, staff are very proud of their impeccable conduct. Tomorrow we take on the lake and raft building... it may get a bit messy!

Wednesday 22nd May

A very early start this morning, and a hearty breakfast set a sleepy Y5 up for their busy day. A 4 storey zip wire and the challenge course were the order of the day for Mr Langford and Miss Ellis’ group, fencing and rifle shooting for Mrs Flanagan’s gang. We all met up for lunch and then took on the task of raft building on Lake Clive all together. It was thoroughly fun and a great team building exercise. We even got to witness Mr Langford take on the barrel rodeo... many laughs ensued. We are all now thoroughly fit for our beds after a hot shower and PGL sports night! Tomorrow... the trapeze, some problem solving and we all canoe the River Perry! We were also treated to a visit from Mrs Fahy and Mrs Wright, it was great to fill them in on all our new achievements.

Thursday 23rd May

A fantastic final full day at Boreatton Park, our Y5 daredevils scaled the heights of the flying trapeze and cracked codes and puzzles as a team. Mrs Flanagan’s group faced their fears and took on the abseiling wall, showing excellent resilience and reciprocity. Yet again our children have done us proud with their excellent listening and behaviour. Tonight’s entertainment is a rousing game of capture the flag, led by our fabulous groupie, Josh! Now just time to clean up our dorms (a big job) and get a good rest before our final morning of activities, see you tomorrow!
